Literature Text

Trent was in the bath. he was thinking about everything that had happened in the first season. and the second. and the third. he was back at Playa des Losers, awaiting to hear what hellhole chris would put them through next.

He had definitely changed during the last season. he was much calmer, and much much more reserved. he talked to others, but mostly he just sat alone, coming up with new songs to play on his guitar. most notably though, his 9 obsession had calmed. it was there all right, but not as noticeable. he didn't freak out if he didn't have nine grapes, but the signs were there, almost invisible though, so most people thought he had grown out of it. the truth was just the opposite. if he had bothered to give song demos to anyone, somebody might notice he used only nine different chords in a song.

he was thinking, wondering. not about anything in particular, just wondering when he heard a knock on the door.

"it's open."

"trent? are you in here? i really have to talk to you?"

he recognized that voice. to him, it was like silk, the most beautiful voice ever.
Gwen! SHIT! he thought

"Trent? are  you there?"

"yeah, just don't come any further i'll be right there!" he said, washing his hair.

"it's really important!"

"it's really important that you don't see me naked!" he said, rinsing his hair.

"listen, if you don't open this door it ten seconds, i'm going to kick it open, whether you're naked or not!"

"you're bluffing" he said, pausing.

"ten"

trent pulled the plug

"nine"

he got out

"eight"

he dried himself off quickly.

"seven"

he tried to dry his hair

"six"

he tried some more

"five"

he decided to let his hair air dry.

"four"

he started looking for his clothes

"three"

he gasped in horror as he realized his clothes were in the other room

"two"

he quickly wrapped the towel around him, and (with one hand holding it) he opened the door.

"alright, whats so important that i can't get dressed beforehand?" he said, jokingly.

"duncan."

"oh......" trent said. he THOUGHT that idiot. why does she want to talk tome about him?

"what about him?" he asked.

"have you noticed anything strange lately?"

"......is this a trick question?"

"as in the fact that Duncan has disappeared?"

"what are you talking about?"

"You CAN'T still hate him that much, can you? Nobody has seen him for the past three days, he hasn't been at meals, he's MISSING!"

"That doesn't make him missing." trent said dodgging her first question. he now awkwardly shifted the towel ends to his left hand. "He could just be in his room."

Gwen shook her head. "he wasn't answering the door, so i snuck in through the window, and he just wasn't there."

"even if he IS missing, why would you ask me to help? you know how much i HATE him."

"because you were the only one who would listen to me! i thought you guys were friends now!"

"ARE YOU KIDDING? We will NEVER be friends that bastard has hated me since day one!" trent said, practically yelling now.

"you're still just angry," gwen said, raising her voice to match his, "because you think he 'stole' me away from you!"

"NO! i realize now that you just led me on to rip my heart out!"

he lowered his voice "what if you never loved me?"

gwen lowered her voice. "what if i did?"

trent sighed.

gwens voice was almost a whisper. "what if i still do?"

trent relaxed his left hands grip in shock, but reached down only to realize in was too late.
